ReelzNetwork Buys The Kennedy’s Mini-Series

February 2nd, 2011

The dramatic search for a channel brave enough to air the controversial mini-series The Kennedy’s has finally come to an end. After the family bullied The History Channel and Showtime wimped out, it was unclear if this 8 part mini-series about one of America’s most interesting families would ever air.

The series has been picked up by  ReelzChannel, a 4-year old independent cable channel owned by Minnesota-based Hubbard Communications that is available in 60 million homes nationwide on services including DirecTV, Dish Network, AT&T, Time Warner Cable, Comcast and Charter Communications. If you have Cablevision or Cox you are out of luck. Unless they decide to pick up the channel before the April 3rd airdate. Which is exactly what Reelz is hoping will happen.

If you haven’t seen too many trailers or ad for this series yet…just wait. Reelz is planning a huge media blitz to promote The Kennedy’s as well as their channel.

The controversy over the accuracy of events started by the Kennedy family could be exactly what this small cable channel needs to move forward. Smart move on their part. Also, if they don’t air it Tom Cruise promised Xenu would have his revenge.

Katie Holmes & Al Pacino BOMB At Sundance

January 25th, 2011

This story is so harsh it make me cringe and I’m not even a Katie Holmes fan. Katie, Channing Tatum and screen legend Al Pacino had to hang their heads in shame at the Sundance Film Festival as their new flick Sons of No One BOMBED like Pearl Harbor in front of a room full of Hollywood heavies.

Sons of No One,’ the new thriller starring Channing Tatum, Al Pacino and Katie Holmes, bombed in front of an important audience at the Sundance Film Festival on Monday. The Hollywood Reporter, there on the scene, reports that executives from nearly every major studio — Samuel Goldwyn, Paramount, Summit, the Weinstein Co., Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group, IFC Films, Morgan Creek, Screen Media, Miramax and Relativity — were on hand to see the failure.

In fact, THR reports, some had even left the theater before the film finished.

Yeah…that’s a stinker. But it proves my theory that Katie Holmes is just not a good actress and it just may be time for Al to hang it up. Channing on the other hand is just trying to work and pay his dues so he gets a pass on this one.
